Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is an information security certification administrated by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, having their website of www.isc2.org. CISSP exam validates the qualification of the professionals working for information systems security.
It is the global need of large enterprises and government sensitive and security institutions to take both technology and high-level expert persons to protect their organizational assets. (ISC)2 is providing the professionals for this global need of information security. The certified persons of the CISSP exam can easily achieve the global recognition with the achievement of CISSP certification test and provide information security strategists to these organizations.
The CISSP IT training courses and syllabus covers the 10 security domains in its study. The 10 security domains, which are tested in the exam, are Access Control, Application Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, Cryptography, Information Security and Risk Management, Legal/Regulations/compliance and investigations, Operations Security, Physical Security, Security Architecture and Design and the last one is Telecommunications/Network Security. Total 250 MCQs are asked about these topics in the CISSP actual tests. Students must gain at least 700 passing scores for the success in the CISSP real exam.
Applicants are registered online on the website of (ISC)2. The fee may vary depending on the location of the center. The location wise list of examination fee is available on the www.isc2.org. You can pay the fee either by credit card, check or money order. Application form can be submitted online or mailing/faxing the CISSP downloadable PDF forms.
The complete certification of CISSP certification exam is achieved by passing the two processes successfully. In the first step, students complete the examination process and in the second step they accomplish the certification process. The CISSP certification exam demands an experience or educational background in the information security field, of five years. The concession of one year is given to the applicants having either a four-year college degree, a Master’s degree in information Security, or certified professionals (having at least one certification) from any other vendor of certification. The experience must be in the field of information systems security as a practitioner, auditor, consultant, investigator or instructor.
After passing CISSP certification exam, the candidates are audited by (ISC)², whereas in the case of multiple certifications ( in its concentrations like CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP AND CISSP-ISSMP), the candidates are audited for more than one, for each certification separately.
